How my curiosity of vintage crockery developed to a passion

posted on 25 December 2010

Ever since I was a child, my mother noticed that I was a gifted kid, because I was a quick learner and grasped facts really swiftly compared to my siblings who were average. Because of this, she decided to teach me from home instead of taking me to a classroom set up. She also home schooled me because I was the last born and she wanted company at home because my older siblings were all away in different colleges. What my mother noticed about home schooling is that I developed my character and no amount of peer pressure could sway me and that is something she admired. In my senior year of high school, she allowed me to take a home economics class at the local high school so that I could experience high school life for a while. In the class, I mostly enjoyed the part where we were taught how to cook various dishes and that is where I developed my passion for vintage crockery. In every lesson as we used a different recipe to learn how to cook, out teacher would sit at her desk and drink herbal tea from very unique cups that were extremely tiny which needed a certain finesse whilst holding them. When she noticed my curiosity, she showed me her unique collections of good quality china and silver ware I have ever seen, and she told me at her spare time, she collected unique crockery that were vintage to the latter.

Personalized Dinner Plates

Personalized dinner plates are ideal gifts. They can be given to anyone of any age or status. They can be given to toddlers, teenagers, and adults. When giving personalized dinner plates to toddlers, the designs should be well noted. Appropriate prints and patterns must be observed. Designs of cartoon caricatures, fairly tale characters, superheroes, flowers, plants, animals, and toys are acceptable. Violent figures and foul words are discouraged. On the other hand, most teenagers prefer to collect personalized dinner plates rather than use them. Then again, there are still others who like to use such plates. Gadget prints and trendy designs are most popular with this age group. Also, they like personalized dinner plates with witty remarks and funny jokes. As for adults, simpler and less elaborated designs are more preferred. They usually display the dinner plates along with other tableware in their cabinets. Polka dots, stripes, and checkered prints are alright.
