How water and electronic gadgets like phones do not mix at all

After every semester, I always take a trip round states with friends so that I can be able to unwind and also blow off all the stress, pressure and tension that the semester has hurled at me.During these trips, my friends and I do a couple of crazy things. We crush many parties, we also go to random parties at random times and also odd hours because we do not have to be concerned about class the next day and serious hang overs. This time we decided to go to the beach and when we were there, we played all the beach games like beach volley ball, we got in to the food competitions, and we also went to all the parties at night and slept in the car and we got rained on one night and our phones got drenched off. When we got back from the crazy trip all fresh and rejuvenated for next semester, I tried sending my sister a text messages and my phone not sending messages. I tried switching it on and off but nothing worked. So I had to take it to a technician who told me that the water has affected something inside and it would take a few hours to sole the problem, and they told me to refrain from putting it in water.
